    Chucky Bantan, Born in South london on the 1st feb 1972. I found my voice singing Dennis Brown (Easy take it easy) on the stairs on the block. I knew what direction i was going because all my friends on my estate were Mc's, so a singer was needed (philip Irie). In 1984 sparing with Marvellous bantan (Dego irie from the A1 posse) who tried to encourage me to hold the mic, at the tender age of ???? I was brought up listening to the mighty Brixton sounds of the early eighties Sir Coxsone,Taurus and in particular Tresure Isle & King Tubby's. My older brother Sergeant Six, became a selector with King Tubby's and I followed the Sound. In 1986 at the Notting Hill Carnival, at the age of 14, I picked up the mic for King tubbies and sang for the first time. My sweet singing voice was a huge hit and I became part of The sound, performing at the legendary World Cup clash with Java in 1987 at the Acton town hall. I stayed with the sound untill 1990. In 1989 I began my recording career. To date I have recorded in excess of 16 singles, having my biggest hit with the Larry Marshall cover I Admire You. My vocals can be heard on tracks with some of Reggaes top performers. Now singing on The Trojan Sound System Favourite performers------Dennis Brown, Bob Marley, Don Carlos, Maxi Priest, John Holt, Sugar Minot, Johnny Clarke, Jimmy Cliff, Frankie Paul, Luciano.
