About me:
At BYC we think all young people have the right to participate in the decisions which affect their lives and issues which they believe in.
We represent a unique and diverse group of young people and work to help them develop themselves and their organisations. We’re constantly running campaigns, planning events and training young people so that they can influence the society they live in.
We’re youth led, and whether it be arranging for young people to lobby their MPs, organising demonstrations or working internationally we put your opinions at the forefront of our activities.
Who I'd like to meet: BYC runs volunteering schemes and is always looking for new people (just check out our website to find out how you can get involved). We have eight young people interning in our office in London as well as loads of v Regional Volunteers who spend a few hours a week campaigning with BYC.
Anyone can get involved in these campaigns which we chose after asking young people what they care about. At the moment they are:
• A minimum wage for all – fair pay for everyone.
• Votes at 16 – your right, your vote.
• Respect? – challenge negative stereotypes about youth.
• Stop Homophobia in Poland!! – make a stand against homophobia in the European Union.
