Rastafari and furthering my overstanding thereof, drum and percussion techniques and gear, reggae, jazz, dub, & world music, travel, beer, hemp activism, clothing and products (marijuana is the healing of the nations!), vegetarian food, Ital food and lifestyle, sushi(thanks Walt!),Indian food & culture, karate, herbalism and naturopathic medicine, art of all kinds as long as it is upful and meaningful, Bible history, environmental consciousness and sustainability, gardening, organic farming, live music, in general leading a simple life, not relying on much other than my faith and good works to move I and I forward...I wish to spread this message by my example, to return my heart and mind to simpler ways of living so than I can sustain our earth and our structure for the coming generations...Selah.Music
My favorite jazz trio ever. Keith Jarret(p), Gary Peacock(bs), Jack Dejohnette(drums)...These are three of the most transcendental musicians in the world. They are touching on something supreme and spiritual that is going beyond technique and mathematics. This is a tune called "You and the Night and the Music." RASTAFARI IS... Reggae is the music of my heart...roots and culture;conscious music. The reason I took to reggae when I was 12 years old was the message of Rastafari, of prosperity and kindness and faith, a message which has since become a serious part of my existence. A few of my favorite artists and prophets: Bob Marley, Sizzla Kalonji, Mykal Rose, Israel Vibration, Peter Tosh, Bunny Wailer, Junior Reid, Junior Kelly, Black Uhuru, Aswad, Christafari, the Congos, the Gladiators, Rocky Dawuni, Jacob Miller, Burning Spear, Steel Pulse, Linton Kwesi Johnson, Wailing Souls, Everton Blender, Midnite, Dezarie, Yellowman, Linval Thompson, Groundation, Alpha Blondy, Dubconscious, Michael Franti and Spearhead, U-Roy, I-Roy, Big Youth, Buju Banton, Junior Byles, Junior Murvin, Gregory Issacs, Ras Michael and the Sons of Negus, Sugar Minott, Lee Perry and the Upsetters, the Meditations, King Tubby, John Browns Body, Augustus Pablo, Earth and Stone...the list could go on. A lot of jazz is also close to my heart...too many amazing talents to list, but certainly Miles Davis, Tony Williams, Richard Bona, Keith Jarret, Bill Evans(piano), Charles Mingus, Papa Jo Jones, Bill Cobham, Matt Wilson, Stanton Moore, Steve Smith, Bela Fleck and the Flecktones, Airto, Vinnie Colaiuta, Dennis Chambers, Medeski Martin and Wood, John Scofeild, Keith Carlock, Chick Corea; Give thanks for all these groundbreaking individuals, speaking the universal language...Selah.Movies

The Bible, The Kebra Nagast, The Rasafari Ible, the "Itations of Jamaica and I Rastafari" series, The Tanakh, Rastafari-the Healing of the Nations, Rastafari-Roots and Ideology, The Art of War...I like Burroughs, Thompson and I am a Stephen King fan as well...I'm sure there are some others, but on the whole I prefer to read non-fiction. Bob Marley...Jesus Christ...Haile Selassie...my Grandmother...my wife, SHE HAD A NATURAL CHILD-BIRTH WITH NO PAIN MEDICINE!! WHAT AN INTENSE AND JOYOUS EXPERIENCE! People inspire me in a lot of ways...film-makers, athletes, of course drummers; I guess if someone does something great enough to make me attempt to challenge myself, that's heroic to me. Miles Davis...Hunter Thompson...is that enough?!
