  • Bio

Bethia Beadman is releasing her debut album Made of Love, which she wrote, played, produced and paid for whilst working at the Hospital Studio (credited on records for REM and Depeche Mode). It will be in all good record stores this autumn on heavyweight gatefold vinyl and CD. Many of the songs are a single live take recorded on 2" tape and mixed by Pedro Ferreira (platinum selling Darkness record). John Kennedy has been playing the album on XFM and featured Bethia in his April column for Dazed & Confused: "With a life that includes studying Sanskrit, exotic dancing and stints of playing music with both Courtney Love and Circulus, Bethia Beadman is a magazine editor's dream. Her music exlipses her backstory though. Ethereal yet visceral she draws you into her world. One of the best unsung artists around." This is an acutely beautiful rock'n'roll road trip. From her starcloth signature 'Deaf & Dumb' to radio singalong 'Homerton Station', wilderness straddling desert rock 'Glow Baby Glow' and 'Woman of Day', driving tunes, country-tinged cabaret songs of deliverance and -down by the river – the tantalising maid-of-love song 'Tambourine'. The band played their first gig in the heat wave of Glastonbury 2009. She has supported Pete Doherty and sung in St Peter's Basilica, Vatican City. This summer they played the Isle of Wight Festival and Glastonbury once again. Bethia read Sanskrit, Indian Studies and Theology at Cambridge University with starred first class honours and the Teap and Crawford prizes for excellence, followed by an Audio Engineering diploma at S.A.E. She lives in Homerton, London, close to her band, but her Venus descendent line runs straight through Los Angeles.
