Bachue is a contemporary Celtic duo formed by vocalist/harpist Corrina Hewat and pianist/guitarist David Milligan.
The group blends traditional Scottish folk with jazz, using their formal training in jazz to modernize the music of their homeland. Hewat attained an honors degree in Jazz & Contemporary Music at the City of Leeds College of music, and studied with acclaimed Irish harpist Maire Ni Chathasaigh. She was a finalist in the 1995 Young Traditional Musician of the Year competition in Scotland, teaches private Celtic harp lessons, and composes music for film, radio, and television. Milligan received a post-graduate degree in jazz and has played with artists like Art Farmer, Scott Hamilton, and Buddy DeFranco, along with his work in Bachue. The duo released their U.S. debut, A Certain Smile, in 1999. ~ Heather Phares
