ANDY LINDSAY
Blurbs
About me:
Andy Lindsay is a Scottish 'Singer of Songs' – old songs, new songs, borroweds and blues; all sung with Andy’s own Scottish, and occasionally humourous, vocal style: Contemporary, folk, blues, rock ‘n’ roll, Irish, Scottish, American et all. Many songs that you'd know – and a few you'd maybe not recognise, being either less well known or self-penned; mixing social comment with humorous parody and a light-hearted feel that empathises with the audience. This style makes him very popular with the likes of day centres, care homes and other private performances but he has also played pubs a plenty including, in Glasgow - Cosmopol - The Clutha - The Aragon - Oran mor - Brunswick Cellars - Butterfly & Pig - Cafe Tibo - Jinty McGinty's - Linen 1906 and many others. Andy also runs his own series of weekly Open Mic Music Nites in and around Paisley (see the poster ad). As well as being a solo performer, Andy also plays with several bands; sometimes up front and sometimes as a percussionist with the odd song or 2 thrown in; notably with The Skunnered reverbnation.com/theskunnered plus Kazoo and The Anvil Divers. Andy Lindsay is also one of the presenters on community radio station, Pulse 98.4 where he hosts his own Magazine Show most weekdays 11am-1pm...................................... ..

"It is great- the kind of music that I love"
"Truly engaging"
Hi Andy,
You're a man with a sense of humour, so I thought you might appreciate this - it's dedicated to the politicians and bankers who work so hard for us:D
The musical version's on my MySpace - check it out!
Cheers,
Bob
Seek not for whom the bell tolls
Just slip the damn bellringer a drink
And hope that he’ll forget to call your name
Get yourself a good plea bargain
Make sure it ain’t a hard one so,
Like beans’n’beer, you’ll come back again
Though your hand’s in the till, and your snout’s in the swill
And you’re sowing wild oats in your neighbour’s field
If you’ve got the goods on your dishonourable friends
When you’re in need, they’ll be friends indeed
You’ll spring back up just like a weed
Like beans’n’beer, you’ll come back again
My country, ‘tis of thee that bought it
Land of “hope we don’t get caught” it’s
Palms with greasy linings, rainbows' ends
And if your ratings start to sag
Start a war, wear a flag
Like beans’n’beer, you’ll come back again
If it looks like a duck and it walks like a duck
And it quacks like a duck and it acts like a duck
Well, only you would tell me it’s a hen
Though some shout“crook” over what you took
Just wait by the oven till your books have cooked
Like beans’n’beer, you’ll come back again
