  • Bio

Andy Hearn is a songwriter from Lancashire in the UK. The Manchester born artist spent almost ten years writing songs before starting to find an audience on the internet. The first signs of Andy's writing ability came in 1998 with the publishing of five poems in the well respected 'Envoi' magazine. The positive reaction to the poems certainly proved that Andy had a talent for words however this was only a beginning and with no intention of trying to become a full time poet his attention turned to learning to play the guitar and to the idea of writing songs. Drawn to songwriting by a love of music from The Beatles, The Stone Roses and Oasis. With a few guitar chords under his belt, the songs soon started to flow. When a few rough demo's made their appearance on Myspace in 2007, the upbeat message of the songs seemed to connect with the people and the early responses were all very positive. Right from the start people wanted to know if an album was on the way. After the songs reached Facebook in 2008, the first press coverage and radio plays were soon to follow with 'Random act of kindness' being played on Mood Radio. The song was also doing very well on the popular music website Reverbnation, where the featured song found itself on a steady climb up the charts. In 2009 Andy signed with Tree Records and began work on his debut album with the impressive talents of Chris Adams, Bob Keeton and Dene Kelleway being brought to the table. With Tree Records describing their new signing as 'perhaps the closest songwriting talent to John Lennon and Paul McCartney to emerge since the sixties' the strong selection of songs contending for a place on the album began to show that something special could be on the way. The First demo produced with Tree Records was a brand new arrangement of 'Open Up Your Mind' from Bob Keeton which proved instantly popular beginning to pick up a considerable amount of airplay and being championed by Signal FM. 'The First single 'Electric Dreams' features the incredible guitar work of Blackpool's Dave Farrar and is available on iTunes now and will be distrubuted to over 150 digital stores. Also featured as part of the release is the fully mastered version of 'Open up your mind' The single also features amazing artwork from American artist Rick Hunt. 2010 sees Andy Sitting at the top of the Reverbnation local chart and into the top 50 of their National chart as interest continues to build and the finishing touches are added to the album.
