Bio
.. I'm a trumpeter and drummer based in Bristol. I play trumpet in my quintet, Horace Silver tribute "Silverado", jump-jive band Fatman Swings, Jim Blomfield's Latin Perspective and I also write all the charts for my big band, which performs about once a year. I play drums in Ben Waghorn's quartet, and back quite a lot of visiting artists at Bristol jazz venue The Be-Bop Club..... I tutor for Bristol Jazz Workshops, West Bristol Music Centre Big Band, Music For You Jazz Summer School, Gloucester Academy of Music Summer School, and do a bit of school teaching..... Tracks:.... Hands Up [2009] - Andy Hague - trumpet & drums, sequenced bass. Here's me playing with myself in a track done to demo the John Packer JP 251SW trumpet. .... Sun & Air [2006] - Andy Hague - trumpet, Ben Waghorn - tenor sax, Jim Blomfield - piano, Riaan Vosloo - bass, Simon Gore - drums. This is from my quintet album Sun & Air recorded live at The Be-Bop Club..... The Long & The Short Of It [2001] as above but Dave Goodier - bass. From my quintet album Walk The Walk..... Unexceptional Money - Ben Waghorn Quartet, Ben - tenor, Jim Blomfield - piano, Riaan Vosloo - bass, Andy Hague - drums.... Fanbelt [1990] - Charlie Hearnshaw Quartet. This is from an album I played drums on many years ago, but in true Spinal Tap style it's recently been re-released in Japan. I have very fond memories of playing with genius pianist Pete Jacobsen, who sadly died in 2002. Charlie Hearnshaw - alto sax, Pete Jacobsen - piano, Pete Middleton - bass, Andy Hague - drums.... Fingerprints, Uncle Fester [with Ben Waghorn on sax], Spaces - these are me playing with my computer a few years ago. With any luck they will already sound retro. -
